Peerflix Community members ship the DVD's
directly from their home delivery
time can vary. The
Peerflix Community is constantly
growing and is an extremely
affordable option to DVD rentals.
Cost is .99 for each transaction.
If you are interested purely in
movies and non-adult DVD's then we
highly recommend you sign up for
BOTH free trials from
Blockbuster
and
Netflix.
Only by trying each of them will you
discover who ships faster in your
location. You have nothing to
lose, so sign-up and test them out.
Make sure you order equally high
demand new releases from each
service. Judge them on both
speed to get to you and speed of
getting back into their system
freeing up the next movie in your
queue. Most will find
Netflix to be the faster service, but in
some areas
Blockbuster
may be much
faster.
If Playstation and XBox games are
important to you, then you will be
most satisfied with
Blockbuster.
Although
Intelliflix and
DVD Avenue offer games, they are not nearly as
fast in getting them to you.
In addition, the high demand games
are often a very long wait for
Intelliflix
and sometimes
DVD Avenue.
If you are looking for adult
anime then
Intelliflix offers the
biggest selection. If you are
looking for non-anime adult titles
then both
DVD Avenue
and
Intelliflix offer many choices. If you
live on the east coast, definitely
consider
DVD Avenue
for speed.
eHit has made an excellent decision to
target the Asian market within the
U.S. If you are looking for
Asian language titles, this is the
only game in town. Their
pricing is competitive, $13.99 gets
you a 2 at-a-time plan. This
service is recommended for those
interested in Asian language DVD's.
They will have a better selection
(including Asian TV series and
adult) than any video store, even if
you live in an Asian community.
Intelliflix offers the most value based on price
($8.25 for 3-at-a-time) and they are
tied for highest selection.
They also offer games and adult
titles. This all appears to
make them the #1 choice for anyone.
However, we've found that many
customers of this service found them
to be much slower than
Netflix and
Blockbuster. If you are
seeking adult, adult anime, and
games - this should be your #1
choice. However, even then we
recommend adding
Blockbuster
or
Netflix for the regular movie titles. |

This was decided on a number of factors.
Most importantly, the speed of delivery and
processing movies through the system. We
also factored in selection, value, ease of use,
and customer service. The results of our
surveys generated a polarized satisfaction
group. Although
Netflix etched out
Blockbuster
overall, there were many
areas of the country where
Blockbuster
was the clear winner - try
them both. If you have an interest in
Adult, Adult Anime, and/or Games then consider
altering the recommendations to suit your
interests. Keep in mind, delivery time is
the #1 issue for most people and either
Blockbuster
or
Netflix will be
substantially faster than the others in almost
all cases.
Unlimited Pricing.
In the interest of accurate reporting we listed
the lowest monthly rate for the "unlimited"
plans. "Unlimited" means you can rent,
watch, and return as many movies and/or games as
you like -- 1 at-a-time.
Intelliflix starts with a 3 at-a-time plan for $8.25
and
eHit starts with a 2 at-a-time plan for
$13.99.
If you only watch a couple movies a month, then
Blockbuster
and
Netflix offer less
expensive "limited" plans, meaning you can watch
a few movies a month - visit their sites for
details. You can also upgrade your plan,
for example I have settled on a 3 at-a-time plan
from
Netflix for
$17.99/mo.
Movie Selection.
60,000 is a lot of movies, but so is 25,000.
Most people surveyed were 'very satisfied' with
each companies selections. You'll notice
that
Intelliflix
only has 3.5 stars for selection, despite having
the same number of titles as
Netflix. This
is because many of those titles are on
abnormally long waiting lists. So,
although technically they have a tie for #1 in
this category, the titles are harder to actually
get.
Speed of Delivery.
This is the 'make or break category'.
Nothing made customers happier or unhappier than
the speed of delivery. You will be
happiest with the company that gets you your
favorite titles quickest. Depending on
your location, that will either be
Netflix or
Blockbuster.
We wish there was a decisive outcome here, but
the fact is: the distribution centers vary
in speed and distance from your house. Try
them both, you will quickly discover the faster
service.
Free Trial. This
makes testing
Blockbuster
and
Netflix very
convenient and risk free for you.
Adult Titles.
Intelliflix and
DVD Avenue both
offer a large selection.
Intelliflix has a
fan base for their Adult Anime selections.
XBox/Ps2. Many
customers swear by Blockbuster in comparison to
other companies offering games - once again
based on delivery times and availability of
titles.
