Nelson and I took a short trip down to Pop Cap (which is literally 10-15 minutes from work) and had a chance to talk to VP of Platforms (and Xbox Alumni) Greg Canessa.
He was generous to answer some questions given to him by the community. It’s sort of like Voltron where to get the full robot interview you need to visit all the different sites and watch the pieces.
Big shout-out to the fine folks at Pop Cap Games for their hospitality.

We had a few extra minutes, so we thought that we’d ask Greg a few questions from the Gamerscore Team.

A co-worker, Staci, forwarded over a post she found while on one of her favorite blogs, Design*Sponge. I’m not sure if I love it because it makes me feel like less of a geek, or if it’s just to remind me that there’s more to the InterWebs than the videogame community. Either way, I especially like seeing people like my friends and family (the non-gaming variety) pick up an Xbox 360 controller or guitar, and feel a bit of the same joy I get from blasting a dinosaur in Turok or getting a royal flush in Poker Smash.
From Design*Sponge:
rock band + chocolate buttercream cake + friends = a great time. this has nothing to do with design, but this video game has occupied so much of my personal time lately that i had to share a few scenes from ac’s 31st birthday party on saturday. if you’re into video games or music [...]

Before Thanksgiving 2007 is nothing more than a tryptophan-induced hazy memory, I wanted to take a minute to offer up my thanks for everything that’s made this year so amazing for all of us here on the Gamerscore team, and at Microsoft.
Thanks to every member of the Games Community, without the passion and dedication that you all bring, not only would many of us not have jobs, but if we did, they wouldn’t be as much fun.
I’m thankful to those of you that put so much work into making the games community a thriving, interesting, exciting place to work. We all really appreciate all the effort that goes into the maintaining your sites, your blogs, your forums, and everything else you do for your community. I hope everyone appreciates all the work you do, but I have a hunch that while we all enjoy the fruits of your labors, some [...]

Special thanks to our good friend Chris Erickson, aka Avid X, over at 360Style.net. Avid X put together a special Halloween version of the blog banner, very stylish. If you look closely, you can see that the monster is actually Chris Paladino. It would have been even cooler if they had done some image manipulation, but I like it the way it is too.
360Style.net always has the latest Wallpapers and Avatars, plus they have updated news, active forums, and the team does a great job with their 360StyleCast podcast and videos. Check it out if you haven’t already!
Happy Halloween!
