Forget that talk of Resident Evil 5 going to the Wii for a moment, and consider that other platform. The one that's a lot more likely to get a version of Resident Evil 5. Yeah, the PC. It's yet to be confirmed, but that doesn't stop Capcom's Christian Svensson from talking around it:
I know that Inafune-san and I are both huge proponents of the PC platform and Capcom is an active participant in the PCGA. We do believe in the future of the platform and that contrary to what retail data shows, it is growing. Our rosy prognostications aside, somewhere the P&Ls of Capcom Japan's outings on the platform are going to come up and they are likely to have a bearing on the decision making process for future titles. That's my longwinded way of saying "stay tuned because it's not clear yet".
Funny, we thought that was your longwinded way of saying "well, everything else we've done lately has come to the PC, so of
course it is, silly".
Capcom PC Q&A [IGN]

Previously, we brought word that Metal Gear Solid 4 appeared to be hitting the bargain bin — a mere month and a half after the game was released. (A shame, because it is a great game, even if it hasn't sold close to million copies in Japan!) Now it seems the Metal Gear Solid 4 40GB PS3 bundle's price is getting slashed at Akihabara retailer Gamers. (No clue about the gajillion other shops in Japan!) The price has been lowered from ¥49,800 (US4) to ¥39,800 (3) for a store sale — meaning that it's going for about what regular 40GB PS3s fetch without the game. That's right, Metal Gear Solid 4 for free. No need to be sad! That's what us shopper people can a good deal.
Hit the jump for the price comparison.

Lawrence Taylor has quickly shot up my list of great people to interview. There was this Blitz: The League 2 launch party somewhere around Times Square tonight. Press people and whoever else got to play the game as well as take advantage of the open bar. The highlight of the night, however, was when I interviewed Lawrence Taylor -the football guy on the cover - in a round-table discussion. I didn't get a chance to ask a lot of questions, so when I did, I simply asked "Why should anyone buy Blitz 2 over Madden 09?" His response was, well, very...positional.
Why should anyone buy Blitz: The League 2 over Madden 09?
Lawrence Taylor:
“That’s a good question. Well, it all depends. If you're use to the missionary position, that’s what you’re going to do. But if you want to sit there and experiment? From the behind, then maybe a little doggystyle and all that stuff, then you’re going to buy Blitz 2. Now you (pointing at me), you might like missionary. That’s something you can control. It’s going to be the same thing every time. But if you want to experience and enjoy it. And get downright dirty with it, then you’re going to get Blitz 2."
Uh..ok. I was kinda expecting your typical "The graphics are hot" speech, but it seems like he knows what he's talking about...I think. I was afraid to ask him what position I'd like if I bought neither game. Oh well.
Oh, in case you were wondering why kind of watch a man such as Lawrence Taylor wears, I snapped a picture of it.

That wouldn't fit around both my wrists combined. I spent the rest of the night standing around drinking free Budlight. Check out the gallery below for some more shots.

hat's the next big beta? A question that assaults my mailbox. My answer is
always the same, a knowing glance and a wicked smirk. We rarely let people
know things are coming before they grace our front page as we keep things
highly secretive. It's for this reason I'm thrilled to announce something
stupendously huge is coming to FilePlanet. If you're not subscribed yet -
I insist you do. That's all I can say right now, but have I ever written
something like that before? Think hard on that, and read my upcoming blogs
carefully for further information.

by: John YanNEWS - I'm one of the lucky ones that hasn't gotten a RROD on my original Xbox purchased a few months after launch (Watch it goes out today while I'm playing Soul Calibur IV). If you are well here's an apology manual with all the things you can do with a RROD Xbox 360. The fake female companion one just scares me though.

My question is, I dont know how to go about promoting this game or even how to let other sites and people know the game exists! We spent a year on making it and feel its top quality and want other gamers to be able [...
According to Develop, Microsoft Game Studios and Havok have recently signed a “perpetual licensing agreement” to ensure that Microsoft and its partners have access to flying trash cans, floppy bodies, and clipping issues for eternity. It is being described as a “unique deal,” but real specifics including exclusivity have not been discussed openly as of yet. The best part of the deal is that Microsoft will be able to utilize Havok’s upcoming “Havok Cloth” product, which is sure to strike fear into both Sony and Nintendo’s hearts.
If anything, this ensures that the random acts of physics-based hilarity in Microsoft Game Studio’s games will perpetually continue. The Havok engine and I have a close relationship. Ever since the first time I placed a grenade on a dead body in Halo 2, I have had held the firm belief that nothing in videogame history could come close to the beauty of watching a corpse bounce between buildings and through a teleporter.
Just as an interesting tidbit, among the official upcoming games list on Havok’s website is Alan Wake. After a bit of prying, I found out that Remedy is using a secret engine called “Havok Disappearing.” Apparently, the engine allows developers to cloak their titles from public view and break console launch release dates.

Okay, I’m going back to calling it “soccer,” since both EA and Konami are doing so. Anyway, on the virtual soccer pitch, the two main combatants are EA’s FIFA Soccer series and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer games. FIFA 09 was announced over a month ago, and now Konami has responded by bringing out the first screenshots of this year’s iteration in their vaunted soccer series, Pro Evolution Soccer 2009.
The cover will feature Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, of FC Barcelona. Messi, who co-FIFA Player of the Century Diego Maradona has called his “successor,” is the youngest player ever to compete in the Spanish Professional Football League. He led Barça to the 2005-06 UEFA Champions League title, and was named by SI Latino as its World Player of the Year last year. I find it slightly depressing that this soccer star is 7 months younger than I am.
My brother swears by the FIFA games, but I’ve met many other people who can’t get enough of the fantastically accurate sim gameplay of the Pro Evo series. If you fall in the latter group, you might be interested to know that PES 2009 will be out this fall for the PS3, 360, PS2, PC, and PSP. Yes, you read right -- it looks like Wii owners won’t have any options except FIFA Soccer 09 All-Play.
Hit the jump for the full PR, and the gallery below for five screens along with two promotional photos and an in-game render of Messi.

At the risk of dividing by zero, I must admit that Reset Generation: For the Love of Gaming is ... a great pick-up-and-play N-Gage game. Before you conclude that my career in games writing is done, hear me out.
After winning a few tutorial matches and then getting destroyed online, I came to realize two things. One: I really suck at this game. Two: When a developer says that their game is "Easy to play but hard to master" it makes me want to shove my hands into their mouth and punch their genitals from the inside. RG, however, is an exception. Their genitals can bask in the sun. I wouldn't throw Chad's grandmother to the floor over it, but its a rather polished and retro-themed mobile phone crack addiction.
I was sucked into this addictive turn-based puzzle game by Themis Group (the Escapist people), who is holding a game journos tournament today where I will be facing off against Cashwhore's Chris Hudak (aka Grinning Ghost), who at the time of this article already killed 25 other players and will surely lay my bumbling carcass to waste. If I lose, I will give away my shiny new Nokia N-81 phone to a Dtoid reader in an upcoming contest. If I win, I will keep the phone and continue playing this game and get nothing done. So, let's give it up for Hudak! Send out your cries of hatred for me!
The game is cross-platform, so you don't have to own a side-talking device to try it: Hit the full story to play the Java version and some hands-on impressions.

It's Friday. You know, Friday. That means one thing: Pull up a chair, grab a cold drink, let's talk. So yes, here it is, TELL US DAMMIT. And here's how it works: We ask a question, you answer it. Simple and no strings attached! This isn't some marketing survey or whatever. It's an emotional investment in you. Yes, we're interested in knowing you, Kotaku reader person. You probably know fucktons about us — more than you even want to, we're sure. But, hey, we'd like to know about you. That way you won't be some faceless blob — and we might feel a tinge of guilt when we ban your ass. Or not, because really we're incapable of human emotion. We think.
Just got back from E3. Well, no. I got back a few days ago, but I just recovered. And well, I'd like to know...
Question: What did you think of this year's E3?
