What is it about this movie this movie that makes so many people (mainly girls) love it so much? I have yet to read one good review of it! It only got 49% on Rotten Tomatoes and only averages about 56% in 37 reviews. Now I know you can’t only go by the reviews but it seems unlikely that there all wrong? It seems to me to be another case of the film being made which ticks all the boxes for girls and therefore they love it, regardless of the quality of the end product. Is this the case?

Fangirls, plain and simple.
it will pass when Harry Potter 6 comes out.
Then you’ll see a whole bunch of Harry Potter 6 question.

Because it’s a popular movie with an audience of young folks (the majority of whom are on Y/A). So, it is of interest to them.

the movie sucked. i think it just has to do with us liking the book, so therefore, we have to love the movie. well, its just opposite for me. i loved the books, but i think the movie(s) suck. but then again the movies always do compared to the books

The Film Is Crap (Funny Crap) But The Book Is Awesome.
People First Fell In love With The Book Then Saw The Film And Felt The Need To Love It.
It Also Contains Robert Pattinson And Taylor Lautner!! Whats Not To Love!!

I think you’re right, it’s “box” ticking. LOL
Speaking as an adult who is not a Troupie (a term I coined), I enjoyed the movie and found it very visually appealing. The story itself probably appeals to girls who can identify with a heroine who is very average and nothing special….but to whom something special happens.
She meets a hot guy who loves her madly.
I don’t like to stereotype, but really that would tick any girl or woman’s box.

It’s a good movie but it’s mainly the books that most people love

It’s just another of one of those typical teenage girls things that pops up allll over the place, and since it’s vampires you get loads of people who thinks it’s ‘deep’ to like vampires. And a lot of them think it’s even deeper to spell it with a Y instead of and I.
I would like to say though it doesn’t ‘tick all the boxes’ for me, and I’m an 18 year old girl. I’ve never even given it the time of day and I don’t intend to, it looks like typical brain-melting rubbish to me.
